Can someone please tell me what these 2 seemingly opposites are doing together?!

Maybe Alanis likes guys that seem nothing like her-i.e. Ryan Reynolds. That relationship always baffled me. Maybe her and Matthew are doing yoga together while playing bongos...naked.
