We all have a choice when it comes to the relationships we share (share being the operative word here) with friends, boyfriends, family etc. Recently, I've been slowly weening off my friends from highschool and have realized that anyone that makes you doubt yourself or makes you feel anything less than amazing, isn't a force you should have nor need in your life.
Throwing away a relationship that you've invested time, love, and care in isn't the easiest thing in the world. For me, there's been different stages that i've needed to go through to find out what's worth salvaging and what's not real anymore. Sometimes we fake ourselves out and pretend we still have something worth saving because as humans we need that sense of touch--that personal connection with someone. However, I'm embracing the fact that change and moving on is hard, but nonetheless necessary, especially when you've given you're all and aren't receiving the reciprication you deserve.
I can look back and appreciate what I had with my friends, but I can also look forward now and know that I deserve good people in my life and I'm so blessed for the ones I have. It's not everyday you come across true-blue people, which is why when you do, you should hold on like hell to them & if you're lucky...they'll hold on back.
